Impossible calibration ATR-901

I'm experiencing problems with an ATR-901, this is what is happening:

When we are in room temperature (20ºC) it shows around 160ºC.
I fired the kiln to 1260ºC, at some point the difference between the thermocuple mesure and the real temperature get corrected and it's almost the same. So I tried to solve this mess using:

P-05 Offset correction for sensor input (-150/150 °C or °F)
P-06 Gain calibration for sensor input (-5.0%…+5.0%)

So i tried to calibrate it, adjust P-05 to show the room temperature, and adjusting the calibration by going to 1000ºC, but the gap is so high that -5% is just not enought to correct that.

To make it clear: thermocuple Type S is not the problem, is working properly and the controller is configured for this type of thermocouple.

Hi,
the parameters that you are using it's correct, but it is very strange your temperature probe gap. Check your TK-S probe are working fine and check its installation is correct.

I tested that TK-S on another device and was showing correctly the room temperature, so I'm afraid the problem does not come from here. I checked also the +- wiring, it's properly set.

Could be some parameter which I dont know? The type S of TK is properly set on the settings.
Could be that just ATR-901 is somehow broken/malfunctioning?

Hi,
to check the ATR901 remove the TCJ-S and short circuit the TCK-S PIN in your electrical wiring, set P-05 = 0°C and P-06 = 0°C, so you read the cold junction temperature of the ATR. If The cold junction temperature is too hight (more 30-35°C) the ATR901 maybe broken.

Yes, the ATR-901 is broken, I bought the next model ATR-902 and all is working properly now.

Anyway I would like to repair that unit, Is it possible? What should I do and what is the cost of it?

The unit is in Spain.
