Using the ATR444 for the first time, I can use a mA generator to supply process signal to AIN1 and my display scales accordingly based on my Lower Linear Value = 1.00 and Upper Linear Value = -1.00
4mA = 1.00
12mA = 0.00
20mA = -1.00
However, the actual sensor I need to wire to AIN requires 24VDC loop power.(P335 - Voltage Output is set for 24V.)
When I wire sensor between terminals 16 (AI1+) & 19 (V+) and short terminal 17 (A1-) & 20 (0V), my process reading remains at 1.00
However, when I place a mA meter in series, I do measure 12mA. Therefore, the display should indicate 0.00 for process.
I tried the same with a Fluke mA simulator and got the same result. Can the V+ terminal of the ATR444 not be used to power a sensor loop? Do I need an external 24V power supply?

Re: ATR444 Using V+ Terminal to Provide Loop Power to Sensor
Hi,
if the sensor is a 2 wires power loop transducer, please use only PIN 19 (+V, power to the sensor) and PIN 16 (AI+, output of the sensor) without shorting terminals 17 (A1-) & 20 (0V).

That worked! Thank you!
