ATR620 buttons wearing through plastic cover

Post by Toccata »

Hi. I'm a hobby artist using this controller on a kiln I bought second hand. All I need is a replacement film to stop dirt getting into the buttons, but I understand this controller is discontinued and am struggling to find parts. Does anyone have a solution to this problem please? I cannot afford to replace the whole controller for this minor issue.
Thanks for any help you can give!
Graham
NB - it's the version wuth round buttons: https://www.ucontrol.com.au/manuals/atr620.pdf

Hi Toccata,
unfortunately, there is nothing we can do.

The product is very old, and we no longer have any spare parts available.

Hi Graham, that's a tricky situation! It's frustrating when a small part can sideline a whole piece of equipment. Have you considered looking for generic protective films or even exploring custom 3D printing services for a button cover? Sometimes older electronics communities are great resources for finding creative workarounds. Hopefully, you can find a solution without having to climb a steep Slope Unblocked to replace the entire unit. Good luck!

"Hey there! Tough break with that discontinued controller. For a quick fix, you might find success with a durable, clear adhesive film or even a phone screen protector cut to size – check out hardware stores or online. It's a cheap, easy workaround while you hunt for spares. You could also try looking for wordle unlimited type communities, someone there might know a trick or two for custom parts. Good luck!
